### Dear Panthers,

Summer is officially underway, and I hope you are finding time to enjoy the warm weather, travel, rest, and rejuvenate.

I've always believed summer has a different rhythm. Even as adults, there is something about longer days and warmer evenings that invites us to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and reflect. Over the years, I have learned that rest is not the opposite of meaningful work. It is what allows us to continue doing it well.

While campus is a little quieter during the summer months, preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year are well underway. Our team is already planning programs and experiences through Homecoming, and as you will see in the Calendar of Events, there are many opportunities to reconnect with classmates, friends, and the university we all cherish. We hope the calendar included in this issue helps you make plans to come home to 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ. There is always something special about seeing Panthers reconnect with one another.

Summer reminds us that renewal is intentional. That same spirit is woven throughout this month's issue. Whether through prioritizing our mental health, learning more about HIV prevention, reconnecting with family and friends, or simply making space to recharge, caring for ourselves is not selfish. It is essential.

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are honored to highlight the story of Dr. Omar Wray, a 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ alumna, mental health practitioner, and visiting assistant professor in the School of Education. Through both her professional expertise and personal experiences, she reminds us of the importance of seeking care when we need it and extending compassion to others along the way.

We also recognize July as National HIV Prevention Month and encourage our community to stay informed. Education remains one of our most powerful tools, and reliable information and resources are readily available through healthcare providers, local health departments, and trusted public health organizations.

Finally, I hope you will spend a few moments with this month's Alumni Voices feature on WednesdΓ΅ Furman, whose leadership in human resources at Zoo Atlanta reflects the many ways our alumni continue to make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities.

Thank you for continuing to make Amplify part of your month. Whether you've been reading since our very first issue or have recently joined our community, we are grateful you're here. Thank you for sharing your ideas, your stories, and your pride in 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ. Together, we continue to strengthen a community that cares for one another long after graduation.
